The Relatives & Residents Association is the national charity for older people in or needing care and the relatives and friends who help them cope.
What they do:
They support and inform residents, families and friends; what they need to know about residential care, and what to do if things go wrong. They provide a voice for a sector that cannot always speak out for itself.
The Helpline:
They offer information, comfort and support via a (free) daily Helpline. Advisers, with years of expert knowledge of the care system, take the time to listen and give whatever support is needed.
Publications and guides:
They publish a wide range of expertly written guides in plain language on choosing a care home, your rights in care, what standards to expect, and many other topics; plus practical guidance aids for carers to promote training and good practice.
