The Partially Sighted Society is a registered charity that provides high quality information, advice, support, training, equipment and clear print material for the benefit of people with a visual impairment to help them make the the best possible use of their sight.
The national services they can offer are:
- Telephone support and advice
- A unique range of bold-lined stationery, exercise books, diaries and calendars.
- Mail-order/eCommerce service
- Oculus, the PSS large print quarterly membership which provides helpful articles and advice about living with partial sight.
And from their sight centre in Doncaster they provide:
- Low vision assessments and sight tests at their independent NHS registered sight test clinic
- Fully-equipped drop-in resource centre with a wide variety of aids to vision from talking watches to lighting solutions
- In-house design and printing service which produces a variety of stationery products for people with a visual impairment
- Support group
- Visual Impairment Awareness training courses for carers and other professionals
