Honeypot Children's Charity

Honeypot Children's Charity offers both respite breaks and outreach support to young carers and vulnerable children, many of whom would otherwise have nowhere to turn. We are proud to be the only charity in the UK offering consistent support throughout childhood; from the age of 5 until a child's 12th birthday.

Respite Breaks

Honeypot House is located in the beautiful New Forest, and has seven acres of idyllic grounds where children can, put very simply, be children. Each Friday, we pick 12 children up from school and they travel to Honeypot House in our mini bus, for a weekend of fun activities and time away from the stressful responsibilities they face at home.

At Honeypot House, children are able to choose from a range of ways to spend their weekend; swimming in our pool, playing on our adventure playground, riding bikes, visiting pets corner or baking special treats are just some of the ways in which these children are able to play, have fun, and make happy memories which they can cherish for years to come.

Outreach support

The Honeypot Playbus is a specially adapted mobile play centre, where children who experience similar difficulties and deprivation in their lives meet, play and socialise in a non-judgmental, safe and therapeutic environment. The Play Bus focuses on play, fun and interaction between peers with the support of positive adult role models. Each Honeypot child will be visited three times a year in their own community by the bus, giving them the rare opportunity to play freely. On board our Play Bus there is space for arts and crafts, interactive games, dancing, reading, messy play and sensory toys.

Ongoing contact and support

We ensure that every Honeypot Child receives a birthday card, and a Christmas present. Our Christmas road show begins every year in October, travelling the country to hand deliver as many Christmas presents as possible. For many of the children we support it will be the only present they have.
