The Grace Eyre Foundation is a community based service for adults with learning disabilities and other social care needs, such as older people and people mental health needs. We currently have arrangements in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, and the City of Westminster.

It's delivered by Grace Eyre, a charity with over 100 years' experience. The service enables people with learning disabilities and other social care needs to live life to the full in their community without having to live on their own, or in a care home. It gives people the opportunity to live in a family setting in their local community, offering individuals a unique alternative to the more traditional residential care.

At Grace Eyre Shared Lives we recruit, assess and support our Shared Lives Carers to provide family-based arrangements to adults with a range of disabilities and needs within the carer's home.

What is a Shared Lives carer?

A Shared Lives Carer is someone who opens up their home and family life to include an adult with support needs. Shared Lives Carers come from all walks of life and don't need qualifications or experience, just the right attitude and a willingness to truly share their lives with another person.

Shared Lives Carers are carefully selected and trained by a regulated Shared Lives scheme. They are paid a fixed amount per week and have access to preferential tax arrangements.
