Bikeworks is a not for profit social enterprise that aims to change lives using the power of the bicycle.
Their three core objectives are:
- to build a more diverse cycling community;
- Cycle riding training courses - Bikeability in Hammersmith & Fulham
- improve mechanical skills;
- Cycle maintenance courses - in Hammersmith & Fulham,
- Fix your own bike space and advice for LBHF and RBKC residents
- Recycle the Way You Travel weekend (maintenance, cycle riding training and a refurbished bike for free) in Kensington and Chelsea
- and support businesses to be greener through the promotion of cycling.
They offer All ability Inclusive cycling in Hammersmith & Fulham:
All Ability Cycling Club
Bikeworks run an All Ability Cycling Club every Friday from 11am-1pm and alternate Saturdays at Little Wormwood Scrubs in Kensington and Chelsea. The sessions are free and are open to anyone.
These are open sessions for people of all ages and all abilities. They have a pool of two-wheeled (conventional) bikes in adult and child sizes as well as a pool of adapted cycles, including a wheelchair cycle, side-by-side cycle, recumbent cycles and tricycles. The wide range of equipment enables the provision of a cycling opportunity to pretty much everybody regardless of physical or intellectual ability, age or confidence level. They have a team of experienced, friendly and professional cycle instructors who run the session.
