Novels are arranged on the shelves in alphabetical order of author. Information books are arranged by subject.
The shelves themselves are marked with the position of the most popular subjects.
Larger books may be shelved in a separate 'oversize' sequence. Please ask the staff if you can't find what you want.

Some books have a sticker on the spine to help you identify more easily the subject matter or genre, e.g. romance, crime, science fiction, travel, teen zone and fantasy.

The library database contains details of all our stock and also shows what is currently available.

Many books, particularly older titles, out of print items and those for which demand is limited, are kept in library store rooms.

If the item you require is on loan or not in stock, you can reserve it for free and we will try to obtain it for you.

Don't forget to bring your library card with you each time you visit the library. Please keep the card in a safe place. If you lose it, a charge may be made for its replacement. The card is not transferable and must only be used by the person to whom it was issued.
