All libraries stock DVDs, spoken word, language courses and books on music. The largest collections are at Hammersmith Library and Fulham Library, which also stock music scores.
CDs
Responding to changing customer needs for music, the way CDs are provided in our libraries changed from September 2016.
All CDs - a selection of rock, pop, rap, hip-hop, country, easy listening, jazz, folk, world music and classical - have been relocated to one central collection at Fulham Library and library users are able to reserve items online to be delivered to their local library free of charge. CDs in Westminster are located at Charing Cross Library and those in The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are at Kensington Central Library. These can also be reserved free online.
If you need your CD immediately, you can visit the full collection and borrow from Fulham Library, Charing Cross Library or Kensington Central Library.
DVDs
We have a wide range of titles at all our libraries. Our aim is to complement the commercial shops by providing not only a good selection of the latest feature films but also a comprehensive collection of other types of material, including children's titles, music and documentaries.
Loan periods vary from three days to one week according to the type of item borrowed. Up to six DVDs may be taken out at any one time.
Spoken word
Every library has a selection of spoken word titles, many in full length, unabridged versions. Whether it's classic or contemporary fiction, humour, drama, poetry or autobiography there is something to suit all tastes. Our collections reflect the diversity and sheer volume of titles available.
Language courses
All libraries stock language courses. From beginners to advanced, there is a course to meet most people's needs; ranging from short holiday help phrase books to large multi-disk sets for in-depth study. Almost all come with books. There is also material to help people improve their English.
