Becklow Gardens

The Becklow Gardens Estate (W12) is situated between Uxbridge Road and Askew Road. The site on the Becklow Gardens estate was previously occupied by dilapidated garages and provides an opportunity for the delivery of high-quality new homes in the borough.

Overview

The site on the Becklow Gardens estate was previously occupied by dilapidated garages and provides an opportunity for the delivery of high-quality new homes in the borough.

Experienced architects PRP have been appointed to deliver a highly sustainable development.

As the developer of this project, Hammersmith & Fulham Council will retain the ownership of the site and will manage all affordable homes, along with the maintenance of communal and external areas.

New homes

At least 50% of the new homes will be affordable (including social rented and shared ownership homes) and the buildings will be designed to the latest sustainability standards.

Current position

Following two phases of public consultation last year, the project team has been hard at work refining the designs for the new homes.

We're now ready to share our detailed proposals, which have been updated in response to your feedback. We want to share these with you before submitting the planning application, which is expected in March.

Come along to one of our public exhibitions to view the detailed designs, speak to the team and give your views. You can drop in at anytime to either one of the events:

  • Drop-in 1: Thursday 23 January, 4 to 7pm
  • Drop-in 2: Saturday 25 January, 10am to 1pm

Location: Victoria House, Becklow Road, W12 9HB

If you are unable to attend the events you will be able to view all the latest proposals and materials on this page after the events.

A summary of recent design changes is available to view in the latest project newsletter here.

Becklow Gardens playground closure

We recently carried out site investigation works which involved digging several small holes into the ground around the Becklow Gardens estate.

While carrying out these works the contractors discovered a disused sewer, located beneath the playground area. We have been advised that to ensure continued stability and safety of the playground, we need to carry out repair works to the sewer.

Therefore, we have had to close the playground until further notice as it is currently considered unsafe to use.

Further surveys have been commissioned to understand the extent of the works required to ensure that the playground is safe to use. We are committed to ensuring that the playground is reopened as soon as possible.
