If you need non-emergency advice on medical issues, then you can use the NHS 111 service. You can use this service if you can't wait for a GP appointment and they can advise you further. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Register with a GP surgery
Register with a GP (doctor) for free, so that you can get treatment and access to prescribed medicines if necessary.
You do not need to show proof of address, identification, immigration status or an NHS number.

Dental care
Dental care in the UK is not always free. Some dentists will accept 'NHS patients' and fees are reduced for treatment, however, there can be waiting lists to join such dentists.

Appointments are available every evening and on weekends with a GP for routine problems, and Practice Nurse appointments are additionally available on Saturday. NHS e-Referral Service
The NHS e-Referral Service allows you to choose which hospital or clinic to go to for your outpatient appointments. You can also choose which consultant-led team will be in charge of your treatment, as long as that team provides the treatment you require. Please see link below for more information.

Patients Participation Group (PPG)
The Patients Participation Group consists of patients, carers and your local GP practice staff who meet to discuss practice issues and patient experiences to improve services. Since April 2015 it has been a requirement for all GP practices to establish and develop a PPG.
How will my involvement make a difference?
PPG's will ensure that the patient perspective is understood and represented in the commissioning process of new services.
