H&F Climate Champions

The Climate Champions programme provides training, connection-building, and ongoing peer-support to local – and aspiring – community leaders.

It's designed to help drive positive change for residents and our environment.

The offer forms part of H&F's top-charting Climate and Ecology Strategy (PDF, 624KB) which guides our work with residents, businesses and community groups to take Climate Action Together.

Training and ongoing support

Climate Champions enjoy FREE training to build knowledge of climate change, and develop skills in community engagement, project planning and leadership.

Trainees are offered access to learning resources and share tips and ideas via dedicated networking groups.

The sessions are delivered in partnership with Groundwork London.

Once training is complete, the H&F Climate Team are continuing to work closely with our Climate Champions. This includes 'climate action missions' across energy, transport, ecology and more, and working together to develop their own projects and ideas for a greener, healthier borough.

We're also offering project-specific trainings based on interest including 'Fundraising' and 'Community Gardening'.

Meet the Champions

H&F's 15 Climate Champions are based across the borough and bring a wide range of experiences and ideas for growing a greener, healthier borough.

We will be sharing their project updates as they continue to develop. Sign up to the Climate Connects e-newsletter to follow their stories.

How to get involved

We are not currently accepting applications for future Climate Champions. However, the Climate Team always want to hear from residents and organisations within the borough to make sure we are taking climate action together.

If you have an eco-idea, concerns about our climate, an exciting sustainability event, or just want to get more involved, email us at climate-emergency@lbhf.gov.uk
