Who they are

Screen Skills is the industry-led skills body for the screen industries – film, television (including children's, unscripted and high-end), VFX (visual effects), animation and games.

They train the people who make the shows the whole world loves and are supporting continued growth and future innovation across the country by investing in the skilled and inclusive workforce who are critical to the UK screen industries' global success.

They provide insight, career development and other opportunities to help people get into the industry and progress within it.

Film London

Who they are

Film London is the Capital's Screen Industries Agency, who work to connect ideas, talent and finance, by working to sustain, promote and develop London as a global content production hub. They also support the development of the city's new and emerging filmmaking talent, by investing in a diverse and rich film culture.

Their aim is to ensure the capital is a thriving centre for a creative industries sector that enriches the city's businesses and its people.

Film London Masterclass sessions feature members of their Film London team talking to industry professionals about their role, career advice, tips for excelling in their field and much more. Each one introduces you to a new area of screen industries and gives you an introduction as well as next steps for learning more about this section of the industry or getting involved in it yourself.

Many of Film London Masterclass sessions are run in association with their Equal Access Network (EAN). The EAN aims to remove all barriers to entry and is free to join and open to all. If you are a new entrant, returner, mid-level professional in the film and TV industry or looking to make a career change then join the EAN today to take part in initiatives and masterclasses as well as receive industry connections and hear about entry-level jobs in film, television and more first.

Funding

Film London

Film London offers a wide range of funding opportunities for people within the screen industries, ranging from their work with the BFI NETWORK to provide assistance and support for new filmmakers to their work through Film Hub London to support film exhibitors. FLAMIN also provide numerous opportunities for artist moving image funding.

Production Guild

PGGB offers the best-in-class training to support members in stepping up and progressing their careers. They also work with their partner companies including Netflix, BBC, ITV and the BFC to offer bespoke training courses introducing new talent to the industry and ensuring those who already work within the industry are supported with all the latest expertise and developments.

British Film Commission

BFI

The BFI Film Fund has a number of funding strands, investing over £26m of Lottery funds per year to support film development, production (including majority and minority co-productions) and distribution activity in the UK.

BFI Global Screen Fund

The UK Global Screen Fund (UKGSF) is designed to boost international development, production, distribution, and promotional opportunities for the UK's independent screen sector.

The UKGSF targets support across the screen sector, including film, TV, documentary, animation and interactive narrative games content.

London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts - LAMDA

This comprehensive vocational training will qualify you to be the best in the industry: capable, creative, and highly sought-after by employers.

On this industry-leading three-year course, you'll develop the skills, knowledge and experience you need to have a successful and long-lasting career in theatre, film, television and beyond. Exploring the capabilities of LAMDA's three professional theatre spaces, virtual production and MOCAP facilities, as well as our range of workshop and studios, which offers all the latest equipment and technology. You'll work side-by-side with experienced industry professionals to create and run LAMDA's productions.

LAMDA has a long history of training students for the stage and screen, including acting and production and technical roles. Students produce films by working with their Screen & Audio faculty.
