Guides to the Homes for Ukraine Scheme and the Ukraine Family Scheme.

If you're interested in, or part way through, the process for the 'Homes for Ukraine' or 'Ukraine Family' scheme and would like to know what happens next, please take a look at our simple step by step guides:

Step by step guide to the Homes for Ukraine scheme

Step 1: UK visa and full access to benefits is granted to the Ukrainian guest for three years.

Step 2: The guest arrives in the UK.

Step 3: The guest's data is downloaded from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC) portal and loaded onto a data spreadsheet.

Step 4: Hammersmith & Fulham contact the sponsor within 24 hrs to confirm their details and record their housing information onto the spreadsheet.

A record for the sponsor and guest is created in the CRM system.

Step 5: The sponsor's information is sent to H&F's Environmental Health Team, and they contact the sponsor to book a home visit within 48 hours.

Step 6: The sponsor's home visit takes place within 72 hours.

Step 7: Once the sponsor passes their home check, they are referred for a DBS check.

An appointment is made for the guest and sponsor to attend one of the weekly Welcome Sessions where they can be seen by representatives from Council services as well as partner organisations such as the Department for Work and Pensions, Shawtrust and H&F Law Centre.

At the Welcome Session, the guest is issued their £200 payment and the sponsor sent a link to provide their bank details in order to receive their monthly thank you payment.

Step 8: H&F's Community Connect Team deliver separate welfare checks to both the guest and sponsor on a monthly basis.
