Service description

The H&F Council-funded service provides support and information to residents about issues facing individuals and carers affected by dementia, including a fortnightly peer support group for people living with dementia in the community and a Saturday dementia café.

The service provided one to one information for people with and affected by dementia, a peer support group and the Dementia Café (although the latter had to close during lockdown)

The service's 6 volunteers delivered 36 hours of work. This is the equivalent to £3,90 if the London Living Wage is applied to the volunteering hours.

Outcomes being achieved

Person centred support and onward referral

Collaborative work with local statutory and voluntary organisations to deliver high quality holistic support

Opportunities to ask questions and share concerns (delivered online during lockdown)

Social opportunities to gain better understanding of dementia and locally available resources

Reducing social isolation and anxiety for people with and affected by dementia
