ACE privacy notice, published in line with data protection legislation.

ACE (Attendance (statutory), child employment and children in entertainment, elective home education, children missing education and permanent exclusions)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 the Local Authority has a duty to protect any information it has about you and ensure that it is kept confidential. See GDPR 2018 (pdf)

The personal data that we hold is obtained from various sources including (but not limited to) service users, schools, other agencies/departments, other Local Authorities and health professionals.

The personal data that we collect will only be to fulfil the statutory functions of ACE team which fall into the following categories:

  • School attendance (for example, penalty notices)
  • Child employment
  • Children in entertainment
  • Elective home education
  • Children missing education
  • Permanent exclusions

The processing of personal data is compliant with data protection principles, lawful, fair and transparent, unless data protection law exemption applies.

ACE team will ensure that any information we need to keep is stored securely (whether paper or electronic) and it will not be shared without your consent, unless we are required to do so by law.

In some cases, the Local Authority may be required legally to share your information with internal and external bodies to prevent and detect fraud or for safeguarding purposes.

If you require an interpreter or document translation, your data may be shared with our translation and interpretation service in order to provide this service. Data shared with our translation and interpretation service will be only for the explicit purpose of completing the translation/interpretation and will not be shared for any other purpose.
