Highways licences applying online

Explains how to set up an online account to apply for highways permits.

We are responsible for licensing all temporary structures on the public highway.

You need to have an account with My Account to apply for a highways licence. If you do not have an account please create one.

Once inside My Account, choose 'Other services' from the navigation menu.

Then:

  1. select 'Licensing' and choose the licence type from the list
  2. follow the instructions to apply and pay online
  3. once the application and payment have been received you will receive an email confirmation
  4. a permit or enforcement officer may contact you to discuss dates or conditions.

Once your licence has been granted you will receive an email with all the details. We no longer issue a hard copy of the licence.
