Important changes to business waste
The Separation of Waste (England) Regulations 2025 came into effect on 31 March 2025 and requires all organisations with 10 more full time employees to separate their recycling and food waste from their general waste.
Also known as 'simpler recycling', the legislation aims to improve recycling standards England, by providing clarity about which materials can be recycled. This consistency will help businesses to recycle more. Further details on the materials covered by the new legislation can be found here Simpler recycling: workplace recycling in England - GOV.UK
