QPR will have a rather long Christmas wish list this year after a woeful first half to the season.
Ian Holloway is in desperate need of a fox-in-a box – a striker that doesn't have a hard time hitting a barn door as his side struggle to find the back of the net.
There are whispers the R's are looking to freshen up their attack with Peterborough United duo Jack Marriot, who is the top goalscorer in League One, and winger Gwion Edwards.
The pair have scored 20 goals between them and Rangers need that added firepower if they are to safely navigate their way out of the relegation zone.
With the Financial Fair Play fine of £40million still hanging over their head and competition to sign the Peterborough players, I'm not so sure how many signings will be made. A few members of the squad may have to leave beforehand to help even out QPR's books.
Before any transfers are made, Rangers have a tough festive fixture list starting with third-placed Bristol City at home this Saturday (23 December) before a trip up to Portman Road to face play-off contenders Ipswich Town on Boxing Day.
A London derby at The Den against fellow strugglers Millwall follows and the festivities ends with a New Year's Day tie at home to high-flying Cardiff City.
Points need to be picked up in these games or the R's will find themselves deep in the trenches and lower than their current position of 18th.
QPR have become too comfortable in the lower half of the Championship. Like a young nipper skating on a frozen over lake, eventually the ice will crack and the ice-cold reality of life in League One will hit the R's.
Lads, it's time to stop skating on thin ice and climb that mountain of a division that is the Championship. Onwards and upwards for 2018!
