Was Ian Holloway commemorating the dramatic Monday night fightback against Brentford with a tattoo yesterday?
The QPR boss got his first tattoo done by none other than his son Will after running out of excuses not to get one.
The tough Bristolian said: "I told my boy I will only ever let you tattoo me when you're good enough and that day has come! Chuffed to beans I made it through the three hours without fainting or crying – the pain was definitely worth it.”
Unfortunately, the R’s gaffer did not have time to finish the tattoo so there may be a whole world of pain still to come for poor Ian. And he’s still not revealed the design started at the tattoo shop Will works at in Burnham, Slough.
Surely it wasn’t as painful as the 90 minutes he endured during the west London derby with Brentford.
The Hoops looked set to extend their losing streak until Matt Smith and Luke Freeman popped up with two goals in stoppage time to halt the celebrations of the travelling Bees faithful in a half-empty Loftus Road and snatch a point in the 2-2 draw.
Holloway then hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons after lambasting the fans who left Loftus Road early – but came out and apologised the next day. You can watch Hollway's apology on Twitter.
“I'm ready to fight and I need you to fight with me, that's all,” he said. “So I'm sorry. You are a real QPR fan, of course you are.
“But I'm a passionate man, I always have been and I've got to get my team passionate. They're not giving up. I don't want you to. You missed a wonderful moment. It was wonderful. I'll take that all day long. I can't wait for the next game against them.
“What can I say? There's a big debate on BBC Five Live and for me as an overall football person, I understand the travelling you've got to do and the expense you've got. I fully respect that and I want to give you value for money.”
Holloway has a chance to give the R’s fans their money’s worth when his side venture up to Deepdale tomorrow (Saturday) for their clash with Preston North End.
