Holloway said new signing David Wheeler would take to the Championship like a duck to water and he certainly made a splash scoring two minutes into his full debut against Boro.
Unfortunately, it was not enough to earn a place in the match day squad for the 0-0 draw with Burton on Saturday but the R's did extend their unbeaten run at home to five games.
The former Exeter man has given the Rangers boss another attacking option on the right wing but luckily for Holloway the 26-year-old can also play as a wing-back or even a striker which could come in handy with all the defensive casualties of late.
Wheeler is very versatile and is not too bad a writer either. He penned an emotional farewell to his last club Exeter citing TS Eliot – if you aren't in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?
5ft 11ins in Wheeler's case.
And he has just started writing his own fortnightly column on the QPR website.

Breaking records
Wheeler began his career at Lewes on the south-east coast before moving to Staines in order to keep up with his university studies. He was then picked up by Exeter and moved to Devon.
He broke more than records in his time at the Grecians as he inadvertently broke his own girlfriend's wrist with a stray shot while warming up for a League Two clash at Northampton.
Wheeler left the cathedral city as top goalscorer with 20 goals and broke an eighty-year-old record when he scored eight goals in seven consecutive matches in the last campaign.
Exeter were bottom in November and astonishingly went on to reach the League Two play-off final but it was one step too far as the Grecians lost 2-1 to Blackpool.
Wheeler has had his fair share of relegation scraps in his time and he will be hoping for more lofty targets now that he is playing in the Championship.
Not bad for a player who started out in the Conference National now known as the Vanarama National League.
