Tonight (7 April) will see the return of the SW attack when Smith and Washington start up front against Brighton.

The toothless Hoops strike force was sharpened when the duo entered the fray in the midweek 1-0 defeat to Villa but it was all too little, too late.

Holloway was forced to reshuffle the pack due to the quick succession of games that continues.

"Matt Smith is so good in the air, he terrifies people, he's a fantastic player," said the R's boss.

"Some people think he's just good in the air, he's got all sorts of other abilities, and Conor Washington is in a great place because he believes that Matt is helping him."

The Hoops aim to continue their unbeaten record against the Seagulls – last losing to Brighton at Loftus Road in 1957 in all competitions.

Especially after the loss to Villa where Kodjia was once again the protagonist as Steve Bruce's men did the double over the Hoops.

"That's football for you. We got beat by one hell of a goal. If one of my players had scored that I would have been delighted," added Holloway.

"We looked a little bit bothered by it at first but as the game went on we gave a much better account of ourselves and we all feel a little bit aggrieved. But you have to score.

"Kodjia's cost £15 million so he's certainly earned his money against us this year, hasn't he?"

Matt Smith has also been deservedly earning his money too since moving across west London.

More of the same tonight please, Matt.
