A blog of two halves

Transfer window will be huge for Hoops, says Holloway

Just like when you are waiting an age for your bus to arrive and then two come at once; the QPR faithful were waiting for a win after watching the Hoops suffer six defeats on the bounce and then got two wins in as many games.

Just like when you are waiting an age for your bus to arrive and then two come at once; the QPR faithful were waiting for a win after watching the Hoops suffer six defeats on the bounce and then got two wins in as many games.

Holloway has not had it easy in the hot seat at Loftus Road that he calls 'home' – but he will be breathing a huge sigh of relief after the recent victories.

This weekend the focus shifts to the FA Cup with a third-round tie against Blackburn. Cup competitions have not been kind to Rangers and despite Rovers sitting in the bottom three in the Championship, they go into the clash fun of confidence after completing the double over Newcastle last time out.

However, QPR will look to continue their winning run so do not expect wholesale changes but a few tweaks here and there to the starting eleven.

Meanwhile, there will be some January transfer business after all with Tjaronn Chery reported to be leaving for China after asking to leave the club and former Fulham striker Hugo Rodallega could be coming in the opposite direction as Holloway looks to bolster his team's shooting boots.

"The window's massive for us and now people have seen us win two games they might actually want to come here instead of thinking 'Do I want to go in to a dressing room like that?'

"No-one likes to have a terrible run like that. It's a horrible feeling and I felt so down, but I never showed the lads because what they were producing at times was quite promising but they were getting nothing," said the R's boss.

"Football's about having a balance of legs and knowledge and experience and youth. We've also got to see fight here - and we saw that again. Now I can have a look at things and see what's right for us. Bits and pieces might not look the best at the moment but it feels so much nicer now."

The start to 2017 has been better than many of us foresaw. Let the good times roll.
