The new QPR boss will get no preferential treatment when the transfer window opens in January.

This was the same message Hasselbaink was given by the board so Holloway will need more than a screening of Coach Carter to get the team going.

Two defeats against Ipswich and Wolves have not helped morale but the QPR boss is not giving up just yet.

"The hardest thing for a manager when you've taken over something that's changed once, twice, maybe three times and you end up with players unsure whether they're going to fit in and play," explained Holloway.

"I knew what Blackpool had and I added the positions. I've not been able to do that. I've been asked to look at what we've got, build their confidence, see where they can play and get them doing that.

"I'll try and get us moving that ball and get us comfortable on the ball. I know how tough the challenge is but I'm going to try."

Rotherham away will be the next chance to get the QPR locomotive moving rather than resemble a Southern rail train followed by Derby at home midweek.

"We are on a mission to get QPR performing again and playing at the highest level. I love this club and it hurts me to see us struggling at the lower end of the table. But we have not given up that easy after a few bad results. The road is long," added Holloway.

I hope the road back home from Rothertham on Saturday is nothing like it was trekking back from Ipswich the other week.
