Climate and ecological emergency

Find out what we're doing to combat climate change in the borough.

No Mow May

No Mow May returns to H&F every year. It's a time to let the grass grow tall to help nature thrive.

Rewilding Raves

Host a Rewilding Rave to invite more nature and biodiversity to have a good time in our borough.

H&F Climate Champions

We’re training local community leaders to take climate action together with residents in their area.

Our aim

The climate and ecological emergency is one of the greatest collective challenges facing the planet.

Human activity is destroying ecosystems and warming the planet with devastating impacts. That's why in 2019, H&F Council declared a climate and ecological emergency. We set an ambitious target to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030 for our borough.

There are many benefits that come with reducing carbon emissions and restoring nature. By taking climate action together we can build a borough with clean air, safe streets, green spaces for all and a strong local economy. This vision for 2030 guides all our work.

Together we can build a safe borough for future generations, where people and nature thrive together.
